What does it mean to have a healthy lifestyle?
In recent years, the wellness and healthy lifestyle boom has exceeded all growth expectations, driven by increasing demand from people seeking a better quality of life and greater access to information. Overnight, brands and companies from various segments became "wellness," offering the public experiences that mark this new era of positioning. However, often with little depth, knowledge, and far beyond the essentials.
But what does it mean to have a healthy lifestyle? What choices and decisions truly have a positive impact on my life? How do I start, what are the first steps?
These questions are very personal, and it's up to each individual to answer them, because what might be good for me might not be good for you, and vice versa. But if we observe simple and fundamental aspects of life and consider what is within most people's reach, we arrive at a few parameters:
-
Quality sleep
-
Physical exercise
- Nutrition
There's no strict rule about these pillars, but I believe, from personal experience, that if we pay attention to each of these points, our lives take a different turn.
We will talk more about lifestyle in future articles and address other pillars we consider important.
Quality Sleep

We start from the principle that we are diurnal beings, meaning we are regulated by sunlight. Evolution has shaped our bodies so that each night's sleep is the highest technology for regenerating and repairing our bodies. The circadian rhythm, which is the technology embedded in us that follows sunlight through internal sensors and manages our hormones and metabolic pathways, can be considered one of the main aspects for building a healthy lifestyle.
Therefore, organizing your routine, within each person's reality, to have a set time to go to sleep and wake up, not eating dinner too late, avoiding caffeine after 3 PM, reducing white light stimuli after 6 PM, and managing stress are powerful tools for a good night's sleep.
We can gauge the quality of our sleep by how we wake up in the morning:
- if we wake up tired and exhausted, with difficulty getting out of bed, our sleep was not restorative;
- if we wake up refreshed and enthusiastic about life, our sleep was deep and restorative.
Physical Exercise

Think of physical exercise in terms of movement, not as an athlete. This is the biggest frustration for most people, who want to leap from a sedentary lifestyle to an athlete's routine. This won't work.
Start with the basics done well, like walking; it's the most natural exercise there is. If you already walk, introduce strength exercises at least 3 times a week. Choose a sport you enjoy. More important than performance is consistency.
Nutrition

Nutrition is one of the most sensitive topics, as everyone has a different opinion, even among healthcare professionals, which causes widespread confusion.
At Shotly, we believe in real food, staying away from industrialized and processed items, getting closer to the source, the producer, and the soil. Eating less and cultivating frugality. Eating better with nutritionally dense foods. Consuming superfoods every day. Fasting, reducing impulsivity around food, and transforming our relationship with food.
And, most importantly, of course, consuming SHOT daily :) Because health starts in the gut, but also because it's a trigger for other healthy habits.
